About the EEXpat project

The EEXpat project was made possible in March and April 2022 by Thomas Lelikakis who allowed me to use his house as a studio, while he was not staying in Greece.

There I enjoyed the freedom and tranquility and began to spread out more and more with my things everyday in order to be able to work artistically. As a self-imposed challenge, I wanted to do something different every day to finally manifest the ideas that have clogged my head. Since everything was created here, I was also able to demonstrate the devices and skills that are available as tools here in Greece.

Not everything could be implemented in one day and it is also difficult to have to produce in this way. The whole thing was only possible as long as I was undisturbed and had no other commitments. In the first month I lasted 21 days, in the second 19 days before the continuity broke.

And here, sometimes, no path had been found that could be followed in order to get a presentable result. That’s why placeholders were developed – images of faces in things. The concept is explained in the Wikipedia article for Pareidolia. Also I played in the second month with facebook’s 3D images and 360 video, so I applied that knowledge too. But it must be viewed natively on facebook for the displacement effect according to the image’s depth map.
